Start the New Year seeing PARIS!

Julie Amabeli “Dan Black”

On Friday, January 9th, from 5 to 9 pm, Market Street Art Spot will open 2015 by featuring artists of Paris Studios and Gallery of Alliance, Ohio. Meet and greet the names behind the art, some familiar – some not so familiar, as you enjoy live music by Beth Gray and light refreshments. MSAS expresses gratitude to the Miller Family, sponsor of the reception.

Pathways, Crossroads, Detours

“Pathways, crossroads, detours…life is a journey full of options. We set our foot to the path and onward we travel. Likewise, the creative quest. Whether by the path of familiarity, the crossroad of a new direction or the detour of a forced change, we forge ahead accumulating experience for future steps. My artistic sojourn, represented in this exhibit, expresses both, comfortable and newly explored territory.”

Please join us as the MSAS features one of our very own Resident Artists, Michelle Mulligan. Opening reception from 5 to 9 pm on Friday, November 14th, is sponsored by the Minerva Area Federal Credit Union.  Refreshments will be served. Kristen Mulligan Exposito will be on keyboard providing musical entertainment.

Chair-inspired Creativity

Market Street Art Spot’s April opening reception showcased the three chairs to be raffled at the Minerva Art Foundation’s “Chair-ity” Fundraising Event the following night and a few of those to be included in the event’s silent auction. Raffle tickets were successfully sold out that night.  In addition to the chair preview, Resident Artists tapped into their creative souls to offer chair-inspired works of art which included pottery, paintings, photography, pen and ink drawings. a  wooden doll chair and an “upcycled” antique chair. While the raffled and auction chairs are no longer on display, the other works will be available through April until May 3rd. Make it a point to stop in at the Spot…you won’t be disappointed! MSAS is grateful to Tom Freeland for providing music at the opening reception and to Minerva Chamber of Commerce, which sponsored the evening.
