Five and Alive

Friday, February 12th, marked the beginning of the Market Street Art Spot’s 6th year of bringing quality fine art to Minerva, Ohio and surrounding area. To celebrate, MSAS’s four Resident Artists created new work inspired by a wood theme, in keeping with the traditional 5 year anniversary gift. Many were on hand to join in the celebration, including Tom Freeland, who provided music while encouraging others to sing along.  The evening was sponsored by the Minerva Area YMCA. Stop in on Fridays (1-6 pm) or Saturdays (10-4 pm) to see the exhibit before it ends on Saturday,March 5th.

Friday, the 13th…not an unlucky night for the Art Spot! Even though it was cold outside, inside the gallery was warmed by friends and patrons who stopped in to join in celebrating our Four Year Anniversary! Featured Artists this month are our very own Resident Artists (Marty Chapman, Laura Donnelly, Michelle Mulligan, Judith Singer) and intern, Isaac Stanley. Also, this month we welcome new Resident Artist, silversmith/jewelry designer – Joli Arko-Fichter – another great reason to celebrate! Tom Freeland was on hand with lively music enhanced by Amie Fankhouser’s lovely vocals (and an occasional few notes from Dan Donnelly)! MSAS is grateful for this month’s sponsor, the Minerva YMCA. Thank you, to all who came in to celebrate with us!

Thankful Journey

November being the month for “thanksgiving”, it is appropriate for us to say THANK YOU to all who came to visit  the “Pathways, Crossroads, Detours” opening reception on the 14th. The steady stream of patrons, many of them newcomers, were treated to a gallery full of great art, fine music and tasty refreshments. In case you were one of the unlucky ones who missed the reception, the work of Featured – Resident Artist, Michelle Mulligan, will be displayed in Gallery A of the MSAS through December 6th.

Pathways, Crossroads, Detours

“Pathways, crossroads, detours…life is a journey full of options. We set our foot to the path and onward we travel. Likewise, the creative quest. Whether by the path of familiarity, the crossroad of a new direction or the detour of a forced change, we forge ahead accumulating experience for future steps. My artistic sojourn, represented in this exhibit, expresses both, comfortable and newly explored territory.”

Please join us as the MSAS features one of our very own Resident Artists, Michelle Mulligan. Opening reception from 5 to 9 pm on Friday, November 14th, is sponsored by the Minerva Area Federal Credit Union.  Refreshments will be served. Kristen Mulligan Exposito will be on keyboard providing musical entertainment.
