An unseasonably balmy January evening provided the perfect backdrop for Market Street Art Spot’s first 2013 exhibit featuring photographer/fabric artist, Michele Waalkes. Familiar faces and first-timers alike were treated to Waalkes’ ethereal works printed on fabric, canvas, wood and metal. Music by Roger Romeo added to the warmth of the evening. MSAS is sincerely grateful to Consumer’s National Bank in Minerva for sponsoring the event.
No, it’s not a New Year’s resolution. It’s Michele Waalkes’ current manner of putting together intriguing art for her final installment of “Thin Places”, a body of work inspired by a recent trip to Assisi, Italy. MSAS has the privilege of exhibiting this lovely ethereal work beginning with an opening on Friday, January 11, from 5 to 9 pm, when you can meet the artist, enjoy live music performed by Roger Romeo and partake in light refreshments. This is one you will not want to miss. Exhibit closes on February 2, 2013.
