The June opening reception at the MSAS may have begun with a torrent of rain, but that didn’t put a damper on the success of the evening, as many came out to see what Isaac Stanley has been up to artistically. As for the “Raines” inside the gallery, it was a downpour of great music (and fabulous food!) enjoyed by all!

This current exhibit will remain  on display through Friday, July 3rd. Gallery hours are Wednesday – Friday 1 to 6 pm and Saturday 10 – 4 pm. MSAS will be closed on July 4th.

MSAS extends sincere thanks to Greenport Financial Services in Minerva for sponsoring the reception.

Friday, the 13th…not an unlucky night for the Art Spot! Even though it was cold outside, inside the gallery was warmed by friends and patrons who stopped in to join in celebrating our Four Year Anniversary! Featured Artists this month are our very own Resident Artists (Marty Chapman, Laura Donnelly, Michelle Mulligan, Judith Singer) and intern, Isaac Stanley. Also, this month we welcome new Resident Artist, silversmith/jewelry designer – Joli Arko-Fichter – another great reason to celebrate! Tom Freeland was on hand with lively music enhanced by Amie Fankhouser’s lovely vocals (and an occasional few notes from Dan Donnelly)! MSAS is grateful for this month’s sponsor, the Minerva YMCA. Thank you, to all who came in to celebrate with us!

Cool Cat

The cool weather may have been a little warmer than previous days, but inside the Art Spot on Friday, the 1oth, the “Cool Cat’s” presence permeated the gallery. Intern, Isaac Stanley’s varied and often whimsical drawings, collages and paintings provided the backdrop for the light-hearted exhibit. Family, friends and patrons were also treated to the culinary artistry of Denise Stanley, mother of the Featured Artist.  The gifted, Kristen Mulligan Exposito filled the gallery with magical music on her keyboard.  If you were one of the unfortunate folks who missed the opening reception – fear not.  Stanley’s work will be on display until February8th, so plan to stop in the Spot during gallery hours of 1 to 6 pm on Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays.  MSAS wishes to thank the event’s sponsor , Consumer’s National Bank, for underwriting January’s reception .
