Michelle Mulligan has spent the better part of her adult life raising a family with her husband, but has always managed to find an outlet for the creativity inside of her. In recent years, that outlet has taken the form of oil painting. Combining two years of art training at the university level (Kent State and Akron University) and private lessons with individual research and general observation over the years has had a significant impact on her artwork. Michelle has given private instruction to numerous students and is currently a member of the Akron Society of Artists and the Canton Artist League. Several of her paintings have been accepted into local and national juried shows in which some have received awards.
“As we are created in the image of God, I believe we are all capable of reflecting His creativity in some manner and in varying degrees. I try to paint as often as I can, not only as an outlet for the gift God has placed in me, but also as a means to refine that gift and for the immense pleasure the whole process brings. If, in that expression, another can find something to appreciate, that is an added blessing.”
